Who can benefit from reflexology?
Reflexology is suitable for all ages and may bring relief rom a wide
range of acute and chronic conditions. After you have completed a
course of reflexology treatment for a specific condition, many people
find it beneficial to continue with regular treatments in order to
maintain health and well-being.
While many people use reflexology as a way of relaxing the mind and
body and counteracting stress; many doctors and other health care
professionals recognise reflexology as a well established, respected
and effective therapy.

Reflexology is
a natural healing technique that works with the body, activating the
body's healing potential by de-stressing it, which can help virtually
every health problem. It is based on the principle that there are
reflexes in
the hands, feet and ears that correspond to every part, gland and organ
of the body.
Through the methodical application of pressure on these reflexes on the
foot or hand, reflexology relieves
tension, improves circulaton and promotes the natural function of the
related areas of the body. It affects every gland, organ and part of
the human body. Reflexology relieves stress, helps the body to
normalize and improves circulation.
By normalizing body functions reflexology helps the body to restore or achiee homeostasis - a state of equilibrium.
In ancient times we stimulated reflexes naturally by walking barefoot
over rocks, stones and rough ground, or by using our hands more often
to climb, build or work. In today's modern world we have lost
much of nature's way of maintaining a balanced and healthy equilibrium.
Reflexology helps to restore this balance and promote natural health
and vitality. This gentle therapy encourages the body to work naturally to restgore its own healthy balance.
Although reflexology does not diagnose or treat specific ailments by
definition, however it can function as a crude diagnostic
technique. The practice of reflexology tells us that if a person
has asthma, lung or chest reflexes on the foot will be tender.
Because reflexology also serves to clear congested or blocked areas on
the foot, circulation in the blood and nerve supply to the related body
area is improved, hastening the healing process. Reflexology has
proven to be successful over time to relieve
symptoms or ease pain or discomfort that have manifested themselves
physically in the body - either as a result of stress, trauma or
disease.
Reflexology has been shown to be effective for:
- Back Pain
- Migraine
- Infertility
- Arthritis
- Sleep Disorders
- Hormonal Imbalances
- Sports Injuries
- Digestive Disorders
- Stress-related Conditions
